Hi, I am Matt Zamaites!
I’m a photographer from the Cashmere, WA aka the PNW, but my story really began with a love for traveling to beautiful places. Back in 2011, I picked up my first “real” camera with one simple goal: to capture the beauty of the National Parks I was visiting. Grand landscapes have a way of humbling you, and I wanted to hold onto those awe-inspiring moments forever. That challenge lit a spark in me. I dove into learning everything I could—countless hours of research, practice, and late nights watching tutorials—until I started creating images that finally felt worthy of sharing.
Photography, at first, was just a passion. I never thought of it as a career, and certainly not one I'd pursue. In fact, I had heard wedding photography was nothing but stress! But one day, I was invited to photograph a wedding, and I figured, “Why not? You only live once.” That decision changed everything. The moment I lifted my camera and began documenting a couple’s biggest day, I knew I had found something special. The laughter, the tears, the joy—I was hooked.
From then on, I dedicated myself to capturing people, not just places. I studied harder, refined my craft, and poured myself into becoming the best photographer I could be. What started as a single wedding quickly grew into something much greater: couples inviting me back to document their anniversaries, growing families, and new milestones. It’s been the greatest honor to not only be there for those once-in-a-lifetime moments but also to be welcomed back as their stories continue.
For me, photography is more than just pictures. It’s about connection, storytelling, and preserving memories that will outlive us all. Every time I pick up my camera, I’m reminded of why I started: to capture beauty that words alone can’t describe—and to share it with others in a way that feels true, timeless, and full of life.
